There are tons of tips from parents about traveling with children, tips on what to bring to keep them entertained during flights, how to battle homesickness, what to do when you need some adult time, etc.  I have definitely used those suggestions and insights.   I had started writing about the most useful things I had brought along on the trip to keep Jayla entertained and she asked if she could give some advice.  I obliged and here it is….

Jayla’s Top 5 Tips for Travel

(I typed it just as she said it – she also asked that I include this in parenthesis)

#1.  Always stay near your parents.

#2. Make sure you keep your favorite things in your carry-on bag (just in case your favorite cape is in the check-in bag and you don’t get to see it for a really long time).

#3.  Feel free to make friends even if they don’t speak the same language.  You can play without even talking and even laugh.

#4.  If you stay in a hotel with one room, make your own space, like maybe in the closet if it’s empty or the corner of the bed and the dresser.  Tents always work for me.

#5.  Always ask for an allowance so if you want to buy something, just in case your parents don’t like it, you can always buy it yourself.

(The two things that have really came in handy on this trip that I was writing about were a ruler and a magnifying glass.  A lot can get done with those two things).
